Divisional commissioner Jammu Pawan Kotwal told rediff.com that a bus on its way to Doda met with an accident at Manoi village, nearly 250 km from winter capital Jammu. "The bus rolled down into a deep gorge after failing to negotiate a curve. Bodies of 19 passengers
have been recovered," Kotwal said.
A senior police officer said the lone critically injured passenger has been rescued and is being airlifted to Jammu for treatment.
Senior police and civil officers rushed to the spot along with rescue teams as the news about the accident reached them.
