The city police probing the murder of Navi Mumbai-based builder SK Loharia, has issued a Look Out Circular against two wanted accused as it suspects that the duo may escape the country.

"An LOC was issued against Navi Mumbai-based builder Suresh Bijlani and his architect Anil Garg, both of whom are absconding in the murder case," a crime branch official said. "We have information that the duo may flee the country," the officer told PTI.

The LOC is a letter used by the police to catch absconding criminals and prevent them from crossing borders. The letter is given to security authorities deployed at immigration checks at international borders (like airports or sea ports), who catch the accused if spotted and then hand them over to investigators.

Loharia, 50, was gunned down by two assailants outside his office at Vashi in Navi Mumbai on February 16. Locals had caught one of the assailants, Shettiar, from the spot, while the other, Wazid Qureshi, 28, was later arrested from his home at Mumbra town in Thane district.

Next day, former encounter cop Emmanuel Amolik was arrested for allegedly ordering the killing of the builder, the police said. A few days later, an estate agent and developer Sumit Bachewar was nabbed.

According to the police, Amolik had been in touch with Bijlani and Garg before and after the murder. Investigators suspect that Amolik had executed the killing at the behest of Bijlani and Garg.
