A gunfight broke out on Saturday evening in Budgam district of central Kashmir after terrorists opened fire on a patrolling party of the Army.
Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the gunbattle.
A patrolling party of 53 Rashtriya Rifles came under fire from terrorists at village Hayatpora, 18 km from Srinagar, around 6 pm, triggering a gunbattle between the two sides, a police official said.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the village which was cordoned off to flush out the terrorists, the official added.
The entire area has been cordoned off and efforts are underway to smoke out any hiding terrorists.
