Pakistani troops again opened fire at the Chak Pagwari BOP in Pargwal around 0500 hours, Inspector General of BSF, Jammu Frontier, A K Sarolia told PTI. The firing continued for over an hour intermittently and BSF troops guarding the border line fired back resulting in exchanges,

he said, adding it later stopped without any casualty.

Pakistani troops had also fired at the Chak Fagwari BOP, killing BSF trooper Sultan Ali. Pakistani troops also fired at forward positions along the Line of Control in Krishnagati area of Poonch sector on Monday night, they said. However, Indian troops guarding the LoC did not retaliate. There was no casualty in the firing.

BSF Deputy Inspector-General J S Oberoi said Pakistani troops had fired on a post and a night patrol party. The BSF had lodged a protest with Pakistani rangers over the ceasefire violations at a flag meeting on Tuesday. There have been many ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops this year. Pakistani troops had also violated the ceasefire last month when they fired at a forward outpost along the International Border in Jammu on June 21.
