BSF sub-inspector killed in Pak firing

In yet another ceasefire violation, Pakistani forces on Tuesday opened fire on a Border Security Force patrol killing a sub-inspector and injuring a civilian along the Line of Control in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"There was a firing from across the border (Pakistan) on a patrolling party of BSF along the International Border close to Ghallar post in Samba district at around 1600 hours on Tuesday," said J S Oberoi, director of police, BSF, (G Branch).

In the firing, one BSF sub-inspector S P Rana was critically injured besides a civilian Subash Kumar, he said adding Rana was shifted to district hospital at Samba where he succumbed to his injuries.
