The bodies of the two Indian students of Louisiana State University, who were killed last week, are likely to be flown back to their native place in Hyderabad on Thursday, official sources said in Houston on Tuesday.

The bodies of Chandrasekhar Reddy Komma and Kiran Kumar Allam are waiting some last minute clearance, Krishan Verma, minister consular based in the Embassy of India, Washington, DC, told PTI.

The bodies may reach Hyderbad by Saturday or Sunday, he said. Families have already left.

Earlier, local authorities had assured Indian diplomats that the bodies, which have been kept in the local funeral home since Sunday, would be ready for flying back home after completion of some last minute formalities.

Allam and Komma, both hailing from Andhra Pradesh, were shot dead last Thursday at the Edward Gay Apartments on the edge of the LSU campus.

They were pursuing doctoral degrees at LSU and the apartment belonged to Allam.
