BJP's General Secretary Vijay Goel said, "All senior leaders of the party led by party president Nitin Gadikari will be in Guwahati to take part in the national executive meet that will accord top priority to iron out strategies for poll-bound states of Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala. We will also organise an exhibition to highlight numerous financial scandals that have rocked the country during the UPA regime."
Gadkari arrived in Guwahati on Friday morning and set the tune for the convention by chairing a close-door meeting of state BJP presidents, general secretaries and organisation secretaries in a city hotel.
Party leaders will address a public rally on the conclusion of the national executive body meeting on Sunday afternoon and a 'scam pandal' is being erected at the venue to bring cases of corruption and scandals to the notice of the public.
Since the meet is being held in a northeast state for the first time, the saffron party will also make a detail assessment of the security scenario in the troubled region and problems of ethnic groups, before forming a separate northeast-centric resolution. The outline of a vision document for the northeast will also be approved during the conclave.
Over 800 BJP workers are working round the clock to host 350 delegates coming from across the country to attend the national executive meeting.
