An Uttarakhand Bharatiya Janata Party leader has submitted a written complaint to police against writer Arundhati Roy for her recent remarks on Kashmir.

The complaint was submitted with Mallital police station on Wednesday by Pushkar Singh Dhami, vice chairman of state urban development monitoring board and a BJP leader.

Inspector In-charge of Police station B S Dhoni told PTI on Wednesday that the police was seeking legal opinion on the application before initiating the investigations.

At a convention on 'Azadi--The Only Way' in the capital last week, the 49-year-old Booker Prize winning author had said, "Kashmir has never been an integral part of India. It is a historical fact. Even the Indian government has accepted this."
