The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the arrest of Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi’s son Perween Manjhi for alleged sexual exploiting a woman police official at a plush hotel in Bodh Gaya town.

"The police have not filed an FIR due to pressure from above," claimed former deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi on Thursday said.

Modi said that CCTV footage of the hotel should be made public if chief minister's son is not involved in any such crime. “We have challenged the state government to release the CCTV footage of the hotel,” Modi said.

He said that BJP will not stay silent on the issue. “This incident has vindicated our stand that this is the beginning of a jungle raj in Bihar after the Janata Dal-United joined hands with Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal,” he said.

Officials at the police headquarters in Patna or in Bodh Gaya refused to comment on the issue.
