The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday attacked Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party over the charges levelled against former law ministers Jitender Singh Tomar and Somnath Bharti.

"How how can we expect a government to work lawfully when its law ministers indulge in unlawful things?" asked Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay.

While Tomar resigned as law minister on Tuesday night after he was arrested on charges of possessing fake degrees, AAP MLA Bharti, who held the law portfolio in the first AAP government, was on Wednesday accused by his wife of domestic violence.

Upadhyay said both Bharti and Tomar are confidants of the chief minister, who had put to stake his governments for the duo and ultimately "humiliated" the political system.

"Delhi wants to know from the AAP leadership who is responsible for the domestic violence against Bharti's wife and would the government act against such an MLA?" the BJP leader asked.
