Bihar's CM is poorer than his son!

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant is richer than his father, according to details of assets made public by Kumar and his cabinet colleagues.

Nishant does not own a car, but owns ornaments worth Rs 11.80 lakh. Nitish Kumar is a proud owner of a santro car of 2003 model worth Rs 2.70 lakh and ornaments worth Rs 52,000 only.

The Bihar CM owns an old TV set,an old air conditioner,a fridge, a cooler and two cows and three calves, says the asset documents submitted by him.

Interestingly, it is not Nitish, but his son who owns ancestral property, which includes agricultural land at Kalyanbigha village in Nalanda district. Another plot of land in Patna's Kankarbagh, a posh locality, is in Nishant's name.

The Bihar CM has Rs 46,000 cash and deposit of Rs 38,000 in three bank accounts, while his son has Rs 46 lakh in his name.

As per assets declared by Nitish, his moveable assets are worth Rs 6.15 lakh, whereas Nishant's moveable assets are worth Rs 73.60 lakh.

Nitish filed income tax return of Rs 1,62,193 in 2010-11. Nishant has filed income tax return of Rs 2,50,410 around the same period.

Nitish and his 28 cabinet colleagues made their assets public on Monday night, which are accessible on Bihar government's official website.

Nitish and his cabinet colleagues have done this the second time in a consecutive year to maintain transparency and to fight corruption.
