"We have approached the Union Home Ministry to immediately rush in 10 companies of the CPMFs for anti-naxal operations," Home secretary Afzal Amanullah said in Patna on Monday.
Expressing firm resolve of the state government to counter the violent activities of the rebels, the Home secretary said the state government would firmly deal with those who would try to derail the development process.
"The Maoists' attack in Rohtas is result of growing despondency among them due to continued police crackdown," Amanullah added.
Meanwhile, police had recovered seven of the 16 looted rifles after a fierce encounter between the police and Maoists between Darihat and Obera police stations in Aurangabad district on Sunday, he said.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held a high-level meeting with top state officials, including chief secretary A K Choudhary and Director General of Police Ashish Ranjan Sinha, besides Amanullah, to review the situation arising out of the naxal attack in Rohtas.
Nine persons, including five policemen, were killed and as many were wounded as CPI-Maoist rebels carried out simultaneous attacks on a police station and an outpost in Rohtas district.
They looted four self-loading rifles, eight .303 rifles, two Insas rifles, three carbines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition during the hour-long audacious attack.
