Four people were killed and over half a dozen were injured in police firing in Farbisganj in Bihar's Araria district on Friday when the police tried to curb a vioolent mob. Some cops were also injured in the clash.

Araria district officials claim that locals were protesting against closure of street because of a starch factory. R K Mishra, Inspectror General of police, confirmed that the persons were killed when the police opened fire on protesters who tried to torch the factory in Farbisganj.

"The incident will be probed as to why those people turned violent," Mishra said.
