Search operations for the six-year-old schoolboy, who was kidnapped in Patna's high security area on Monday, have been stepped up with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressing displeasure as the boy has not be traced for four days.
"We have intensified the operations for searching the boy," Senior Superintendent of Police Vinit Vinayak said.
The chief minister had called Additional Director General of Police Neelmani, SSP Vinayak and city Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj and directed them to ensure recovery of the boy as early as possible.
The police has so far detained seven people in the case, including the driver of the vehicle in which the boy was going to school.
Preliminary investigation has revealed that a land dispute may be the motive behind the incident, Vinayak said.
Shresth Sanjay (Shreya), a Class I student, was kidnapped on Monday by three motorcycle-borne youngsters when he was on his way to Christ Church school from his residence at Kankerbagh colony.
The trio intercepted a car and took away the boy, son of a private firm official Sanjay Srivastava, at gunpoint.
