The recent sensational triple murder of a family in Bengaluru has been solved with the arrest of three persons and recovery of Rs 2.5 lakh worth gold ornaments, Rs 11,500 in cash and four mobiles from them.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari told mediapersons that the main accused Lokesh (24) and his two associates, Murali (20) and Bhaskar alias Raja (35) were nabbed on Wednesday.

The gang had murdered interior decorator Rahul Das(45), his wife Pushpa Latha Das (40) and daughter Agneesha (9) on October 20 Bidari said Lokesh, who had worked as a driver cum office boy with Das six months ago, had hatched the murder plan.

Bidari said the trio gained entry to the house on October 20 evening when Das was alone, while his wife had taken their daughter for tuitions in the Banaswadi area.

When Das questioned them, Lokesh said the two would help supervise the land which he had bought in Sagar in Shimoga district. They then throttled him unconscious, took him to the bathroom, tied his hands to water pipes and immersed his head in a bucket of water.

Das succumbed to asphyxia, Bidari said. Meanwhile, Pushpalatha returned home with Agneesha and on suspicion, questioned the trio. The trio forced them into the bedroom, smothered them to death with pillows and dumped the bodies in the bathtub.

They decamped with the mobiles after locking the house from outside and throwing the keys into a nearby water tank, he said. Bidari said a hunt was on for two more persons, who are suspected to have a hand in the murders.
