A Bengaluru blast suspect, hiding in Ajmer for the past two months, was arrested by the Karnataka Intelligence Bureau with the help of Government Railway Police, a senior GRP official said on Saturday.
Umer Farooq alias Umar Abdulla was arrested from the railway station in Ajmer on Friday midnight when he was about to board a train going to Ahmedabad, GRP Superintendent of Police Ajmer Veerbhan Ajvani said.
He was taken to Bengaluru by the Karnataka IB team on Saturday after being granted permission by a local court, Ajvani said.
Farooq, a terrorist suspected of being involved in the Bengaluru bomb blast of July 25, 2008, had been hiding in Ajmer for the past two months, he said.
