Meanwhile, in an inadvertent slip, a top police officer of the Uttar Pradesh police on Saturday disclosed the identity of the parents of the 14-year-old girl, who was allegedly gang-raped by two constables inside a police station in Badaun three days ago.
Additional Director General of Police (Crime) H S Awasthi revealed the identity of the girl's parents and their residential address while talking to reporters after an hour-long meeting with members of her family.
The Supreme Court has directed not to disclose the identity of rape victims and it is also an offence under Section 228 A of the Indian Penal Code. The girl was allegedly abducted from her house on December 31 and gang-raped by the two constables in the police station premises prompting the authorities to terminate them and suspend the SHO.
Additional Director General of Police (Crime) H S Awasthi said that the STF has been roped in as constables Veer Pal Singh Yadav and Avnish Yadav, both dismissed, were absconding after the crime on the New Year’s Eve.

Sub-inspector Sobharan Singh Yadav has been shunted to police lines, the SSP said.
IG, Law and Order, A Satish Ganesh told reporters on Friday that medical examination of the girl has confirmed the rape.
District Magistrate Shambhu Nath said a financial assistance of Rs five lakh was also given to the family members of the victim from the Chief Minister's fund. Awasthi said that there was no criminal record against the two constables, though one them had been punished in the past for dereliction of duty.
