Bad weather on Wednesday night forced cancellation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's return to Delhi from Lucknow as his plane could not take off.

The aircraft was to have taken off from Bakshi ka Talav airport at the Air Force station on the city outskirts at around 9pm but continuous rains prevented the take-off, Congress sources said.

Gandhi is expected to leave for Delhi on Thursday, they added.
