Back in Mumbai, Munde targets Gadkari

The feud between the Bharatiya Janata Party and its general secretary, Gopinath Munde seems no sign of abating.

Munde, who had to eat humble pie in New Delhi a day earlier when he said that he will not quit the party, landed in Mumbai on Thursday and immediately launched a attack against BJP President Nitin Gadkari.

Without naming Gadkari, Munde said, "All those who wanted to defame me have been exposed... the (people) in the state have come to know their true competence."

Giving further proof that the war between the two was not over yet, Munde said that he would soon tour the whole of the state.

BJP leaders believe that Munde will use the tour to mobilise his supporters in a bid to show his strength in the party and challenge Gadkari.

Munde supporters claim that the party has erred in not standing behind their leader in the tussle against Gadkari.

"He is not a mass leader like Munde; he is just an arm chair leader. How many elections has he won? Munde's state tour will show who is the real leader in Maharashtra," said a Munde supporter.
