January 30, 2012 12:45 IST

A charge sheet has been filed in a disproportionate assets case against Jharkhand MLA, Vidal Sabha, who was formerly a minister in Jharkhand. Six other persons -- his wife, brother-in-law, two brothers, nephew and an associate have also been charged for abetting the offence.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has revealed that the MLA allegedly possessed assets disproportionate to his known source of income to the tune of Rs 16.82 core.

The case, which was earlier being investigated by the Jharkhand State Vigilance, was transferred to the CBI by the Jharkhand high court while hearing a PIL into the case.
