BJP announces NE states in charge

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday appointed V Satish as the organisational secretary for the North East while former Union Ministers Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Swami Chinmayanada were given charge of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh respectively.

BJP's Assam unit spokesman Dilip Saikia on Sunday said in Guwahati that party president M Venkaiah Naidu has appointed  Arun Sathe in-charge of Assam, Bharat Singh for Meghalaya, Tapir Gao for Manipur and Ashim Ghosh for Tripura.

BJP Members of Parliament from Assam, Rajen Gohain and Narayan Chandra Borkotoky, have been appointed in-charge of Mizoram and Nagaland respectively.

Barring Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, T C Gehlot has been appointed the overall in-charge of the other North Eastern states.

Saikia further said Abidur Rehman has been appointed as secretary of the party's state minority cell.
