Assam: Grenade blasts in police station injures 6

Six persons including three policemen were injured when suspected militants belonging to the anti-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Assam lobbed grenades inside the campus of Mangaldoi police station in Assam on Thursday evening.

Police informed that unidentified motor-cycle borne militants hurled grenades in Mangaldoi police station campus when duty parade was on at around 6.30 pm. Three policemen, two journalists and a young lady, who were in the police station at that time, were injured in the grenade blasts.

A police vehicle parked in the campus was damaged in the impact of the blasts. A manhunt has been launched in the area following the incident.

Meanwhile, the anti-talks faction of the ULFA or the ULFA (Independent) has sent messages to the media in Assam claiming responsibility for the grenade explosions in Mangaldoi Police Station.
