Assam gas pipeline fire kills 2, injures 10

Two persons, including a pregnant woman, were killed and at least 10 others sustained serious burn injuries when a pipeline of the Assam Gas Company Limited caught fire after a blast in the wee hours of Monday near Singijan Tea Estate in Moran in eastern Assam.

The fire razed

several houses to the ground and destroyed standing crops.

The injured have been rushed to Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh.

The condition of the injured is stated to be serious as there was delay in transporting the injured to the hospital.

The two deceased have been identified as Jypti Sobor and Bhasan Sharma.
