The Delhi Police said on Tuesday that arrested Border Security Force head constable Abdul Rasheed was trying to get posting in the border areas so that he could pass on the information to Kafaitullah Khan, handler of Pakistan's Intelligence Operative, and help in the infiltration of terrorists.

"They used code words while talking to accomplices on phone. They were also trying to get the BSF jawan (Rasheed) posted in border areas so that he can help in the infiltration of terrorists," joint commissioner of police (crime branch) Ravindra Yadav told reporters in New Delhi on Tuesday.

"Joint interrogation by the Crime Branch of Delhi police, intelligence agencies, Madhya Pradesh police and the BSF is going on. The Madhya Pradesh police is interrogating because he (Kafaitullah) was on way to Bhopal and was about to be recruited there," Yadav added.

Yadav had on Monday said that Kafaitullah, an agent of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, was invited to Pakistan by the handler and was told that he would be given assistance by their people at the Pakistan High Commission.

Meanwhile, BSF Director General D K Pathak branded Rasheed as a ‘black sheep’ and said that the details about the latter leaking information to the Pakistani handler can only be disclosed after further interrogation.

"The BSF is a very big force but unfortunately one person has turned into a black sheep. Interrogation is going on and saying anything at this point of time will be premature. I can say further about the leak of information only after the interrogation," Pathak said.

"He is a low-level functionary, so he does not have much classified information. Further details will be given only after the interrogation," he said.

Two espionage rackets were busted last week with arrests of five people from, New Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir and Kolkata respectively.
