Army soldier killed in encounter at LoC

An Indian Army soldier died in an encounter near the Tangdhar sector of the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday night.

The soldier was killed when militants started firing at Indian troops after they had been found during a search of the area. The soldier was injured and died on the spot, said a police official.

Security forces also retaliated ensuing in an encounter which is still going on, they said, adding reinforcement was rushed to the area from nearby camps.
