Are power cuts plaguing your city? Tell us!

May 27, 2011 09:07 IST

Villages in Tamil Nadu's Tuticorin district suffer power cuts for at least three hours everyday. To make matters worse, these villages are plunged into darkness many more times, thanks to frequent power cuts of shorter durations.

Once a month, the power cut lasts for nearly the whole day. Officials claim that it is imperative for 'maintenance'. And this special 'maintenance' is not confined to villages alone; even capital Chennai had to put up with a 24-hour power cut recently.

The situation in other states across India isn't much better. Parts of Bihar recently experienced a 17-hour spell of darkness.

As summer gets hotter, the power situation in India steadily worsens. The government remains clueless about fixing the power shorage and millions of aam aadmi bear the brunt of its ineptitude.
