The Andhra Pradesh high court will give its verdict on Saturday on the Central Bureau of Investigation's petition seeking the custody of YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy. The court will also pass its judgement on a quash petition challenging Jagan's arrest on charges of corruption and other economic offences.

Even as the special CBI court dismissed Jagan's petition for interim bail on Friday, the counsels for both Jagan and the CBI were fighting it out in the high court till late in the evening.

Hower the high court bench reserved its judgement until Saturday afternoon. It came as a disappointment for Jagan's wife Bharati who along with family's financial adivsor Vijay Sai Reddy was present in the court until late in the evening.

While Jagan in his petition pleaded with the court to quash his arrest as 'illegal', the CBI has sought his 10-day custody for further questioning about his financial dealings and source of investments in his company.

The CBI told the court that Jagan had not cooperated during the initial three-day questioning before his arrest. The CBI counsel said that the questioning of former Excise Minister M Venkatramanna and YSR family's auditor has yielded some new information about which it needs to question Jagan.

Rejecting Jagan's allegation that his arrest was a political conspiracy, CBI opposed his quash petition saying that if he is released on bail he will try to damage the evidence and influence witnesses.
