The bomb mania at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru continued on Sunday, with the police discovering another live bomb and three more packets containing suspicious material.

The live bomb was found near the gate no 1 of the stadium on Sunday.

A major tragedy was averted at the Chinnaswamy stadium on Saturday when two bombs, which were timed to explode at 8 pm, went off at 3 pm. A third bomb, which was found later, was defused by the bomb squad of the Karnataka police.

The police also found another bomb near gate number 7 of the stadium on Saturday, which was timed to explode at 4.30 pm.

The Bengaluru police, which had claimed on Saturday that it had sanitized the entire stadium, were back at the venue on Sunday searching for more bombs. One policeman at the spot said that the combing operations are on, and it seems like 'even the waste material used while making the bomb has been dumped in the stadium area.'

The reports that have been coming from the forensics lab suggest that the bombs used are very similar to the ones that were used in the 2008 Bengaluru blasts.

Police sources said that luckily, the timers had all misfired, and hence a major tragedy was averted.
