Villagers in Pakistan's Faridkot district have slammed 26/11 attacker Mohammed  Ajmal Kasab's conviction by a special court in Mumbai, said the Dawn news website.

The locals were also angry at what they perceived as partiality in the judgement, as they argued that both the Indians accused in the case were acquitted.

Some villagers expressed their shock at the fact that a 'mere

child like Kasab' could commit such a crime. Some others felt it would be better if Kasab was handed over to Pakistan.

Village elders felt Kasab had done no wrong and was wrongly involved in the attacks. They even expressed admiration for his courage in taking on 'infidel India'  but justified it by saying that India was behind the internal strife in Pakistan and was denying Pakistan its rightful share of water.
