Social activist Anna Hazare on Tuesday met family members of late former Union Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh and offered his condolences to them.
Hazare travelled to Babhalgaon, native village of the former chief minister in Latur district of Central Maharashtra, to meet his family.
During the meeting, the anti-corruption crusader recalled the role played by Deshmukh to end his 12-day fast on the Lokpal issue at Ramlila Ground in Delhi last year.
Passing the Jan Lokpal Bill would a real tribute to the former chief minister, he said.
The Gandhian later returned to his native village Ralegaon Siddhi in Ahmednagar district.
The 67-year-old Congress leader died of a serious liver ailment at a Chennai Hospital on August 14.
