Andhra governor to visit Delhi, meet PM

Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan will undertake a three-day visit to Delhi on January 6 to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and other senior leaders of the United Progressive Alliance, in the backdrop of the Shrikrishna panel submitting its report on the formation of a separate state of Telangana on Tuesday.

Narasimhan has often been consulted by Home Minister P Chidambaram on various issues pertaining to the Telangana panel and the political stability of Andhra Pradesh.

He has also been in constant touch with officials of the defence ministry on coastal security. On January 7, the Andhra governor is meeting Defence Minister AK Antony.

Narasimhan is also expected to pay a courtesy call on President Pratibha Patil
