Akhilesh Yadav has major plans for development of UP

May 10, 2012 18:12 IST

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said concrete steps would be taken for the development of the state.

Stern action would be taken against those taking law and order in their hands even if they were associated with the party, Akhilesh said.

The CM said that good and able officers would be given full opportunity to work and lax officers would not be allowed to continue on their posts. He said since police personnel have to work under tough conditions, the government would take measures for their welfare.

Akhilsh alleged that development work had come to a standstill in the state due to wrong policies of the earlier government. He assured that along with better law and order, his government would fulfill other promises made to the people.

The CM said that the government would take some big decisions in the budget to be presented soon.

He said that the present government would utilise funds to set up IT parks so that local youth can get employment.

Akhilesh said that better arrangements of sanitation, roads, flyovers, power, public transport and policing would be made in major cities.

Emphasising on the use of modern technology, the CM said the government was going to distribute tablets and laptops after the budget. As of now, he said, discussions were being held on the software to be provided in tablets and laptops.
