A day after Nitish Kumar, Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad took out a march on the main roads in Bihar capital on Sunday to protest against the Narendra Modi government's failure to bring black money and its land acquisition amendment bill and rising inflation.
Lalu Prasad, along with thousands of party leaders and workers, lead a march from JP square near Gandhi maidan, in the heart of Patna to Raj Bhawan, to protest against Modi's anti-poor and anti-people's policies.
Lalu Prasad warned Modi of another Mahabharat over his government's land acquisition bill.
Lalu said that Mahabharat was fought in the country thousands of years ago for a dispute of land when Pandav refused to hand over mere five villages to Kaurva.
“Modi's land acquisition bill is directly targeting people, particularly farmers; they will rise against it," Lalu said before launched his march.
Lalu also questioned Modi's promises to bring back black money and provide Rs 15 lakh to each people across the country within hundred days after coming to power.
“Where is black money? People have yet to receive money in their bank accounts.” Lalu said.
Lalu demanded that Rs 15 lakh be immediately deposited in all bank accounts opened under Jan Dhan Yojana.
Nitish Kumar Saturday began a 24 hour fast in protest against the land acquisition amendment bill of the Narendra Modi government.
He ended his fast on Sunday morning.
Nitish Kumar along with senior party leaders began the fast at the party headquarters, Janata Dal-United spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said.
During the fast Nitish Kumar will take only lemon water, JD-U leaders said.
His fast was a part of Bihar's ruling JD-U stir against the land acquisition bill and to expose the Modi government and mobilise people against it.
Nitish Kumar has described the bill as a “black law”, which was against the interests of farmers and announced that his government would not implement the bill in Bihar.
