The Maharashtra government on Monday said action would be taken against ATS chief K P Raghuvanshi if he had indicated involvement of Hindu organisations in the Pune German Bakery blast.

"I will inquire if Raghuvanshi really indicated to the media about involvement of Hindu organisations in the Pune blast and if he did, action will be taken (against him)," Home Minister R R Patil informed the Legislative Council.

Shiv Sena leader Diwakar Raote said Raghuvanshi revealed information about accused in the case and sent police to Hindu organisations and Sena shakhas for inquiry.

"When Pakistani organisations were involved in the blast, why were Hindu organisations targeted by Raghuvanshi," Raote asked.
Patil said Raghuvanshi did not speak to media about the Pune blast. Terrorists have no religion and they should be punished, he added.

Not satisfied with the reply, Leader of Opposition Pandurang Phundkar said despite knowing Pakistan's involvement, Hindu organisations were probed.

Defending the inquiry, Patil said police need to look into all aspects. "Besides the 26/11 terror attacks and train blasts, there are cases like blasts in Malegaon, Nanded, Goa and Thane which cannot be ignored," Patil said.

Meanwhile, the minister said a record of foreigners staying illegally in the state would be kept.

"A record would be maintained of foreigners staying here illegally and people should also remain alert about any suspicious activity," he said.
