Aarushi case: Talwars to get CBI's closure report

January 07, 2011 12:45 IST

A special court in Ghaziabad on Friday posted January 21 as the next date of hearing on the Central Bureau of Investigation's December 29, 2010 closure report in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case.

The court also ordered the CBI to give a copy of the closure report to Aarushi's parents -- Dr Rajesh and Dr Nupur Talwar.

Earlier on Friday, the CBI had argued that murdered teenager Aarushi Talwar's father Rajesh Talwar had no 'locus standi' to argue as he was 'no more a complainant' in the case.

Rajesh Talwar's lawyer Satish Tamta, however, pleaded before the court that all documents regarding the Aarushi murder case be made available to Rajesh Talwar.

Opposing Tamta's argument, CBI lawyer R K Saini had told the court that Rajesh Talwar was "no more a complainant now".

He added that Noida police had already suspected and arrested him in the case, after which he had become the accused in the case so he has "no locus standi" to argue or put his stand in the case before the court.

Aarushi, 14, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents' Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, on May 16, 2008. Their domestic help Hemraj's body was found on the flat's terrace a day later.
