Suggestions:DEAR SIR, MUCH IS BEING TALKED THAT THIS YEAR THERE WILL BE INCREASE IN TAXES IN THE FORM OF SURCHARGES DUE TO EARTHQUAKE IN GUJARAT. HERE I WOULD LIKE TO BRING TO YOUR NOTICE THAT INCREASE IN TAXES WILL LEAD TO AVOIDING OF THE SAME. ON THE CONTRARY REDUCTION IN TAXES WILL INCREASE IN COLLECTION OF REVENUE AGAINST TAXES. HOWEVER, THE FEAR WITH MOST OF THE PEOPLE IS THAT ONCE THEY OPEN THE FILE FOR FILING OF RETURNS, THEN THEY FIND IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CLOSE THE FILE WHEN THEIR INCOMES FALL DOWN OR FOR WHATEVER REASONS. SIMPLE PROCEDURES SHOULD BE LAID DOWN OR FORMULATED WHERE PEOPLE CAN BE ALLOWED TO STOP THE SUBMISSION OF FILE RETURNS.ONCE THE SIMPLE EXIT PROCEDURES ARE LAID DOWN THEN I AM CONFIDENT THAT MORE PEOPLE WILL COME FORWARD TO PAY THE TAXES. THANKS AND REGARDS RAJU GIANANI

Suggestions:There is a lot of publicity given to the recent quake in Gujarat. It is sad that such a thing happenned. But then the government now has come up with a slogan that more taxes are going to be imposed because of the burden on the government. Already the comman man in the country is burdenned with taxes from all corners. In a time when we should make more and more people to honestly pay taxes, we are now moving into an era where we are forcing people to look for alternative ways to evade tax. The government on the other hand is playing on the sentiments of people by telling that it is for Gujarat. Already a lot of people are donating money towards PM's relief fund and other NGO's putting their share towards the relief works. Added to this is the extra tax. Why don't we encourage more people to pay taxes and also give sops to people who contribute to the PM's relief fund? One way to do this is to allow people to deduct of 60% of the amount being donated to this fund from their net tax payable. This way people stand to gain a 25% saving on their tax so also the government gets 40% of the amount more. This way more and more people might contribute to the PM's fund in order to save on tax as a tax saving measure. Even if it is not with a good intention it still serves the purpose. The problem with the current 100% exemption is that the honest tax payers are being conned into telling that you pay the govt. some contribution and the govt. will give a 34.5% of that amount from your net tax. It amounts to say that the person who donates money stands to gain nothing but a loss of 66.5% of that money. It is the honest payers of tax who are putting their mite and who is getting burdenned. We are already the most taxed country now and one of the least developed. Can't we do away with this traditional way of taxing and adopt more scientific ways in order to get more people to pay taxes and deviod the country of black money???

Suggestions:Watch out from tomorrow’s THE HINDU daily (DELHI DEITION) Our appeal to you to come forward and save the life of thousands of innocent people who dies due to the earthquakes, Asthma, etc. by bringing forward the researcher. ------ NO MORE FEAR OF KILLER EARTHQUAKES IN INDIA: UNDERSTAND HOW IT STRIKES, WHEN IT STRIKES AND WHERE IT STRIKES How this has happened in Gujarat, and who is responsible? This can be witnessed at the time of public demonstration, through T.V. Channels, by Researcher Shri Vishwanath Shet, with scientic proofs, before a Panel of Scientists. The Researcher registered before the Government of India Patent Authority (No.729/MAS/93 dated 12/10.1993) his scientific achievements and stated as to how the earthquake happened in Latur in 1993. The Geological Authority of India in Calcutta knows my achievements already. If they had given me an opportunity to discuses the matter, the present earthquake in Gujarat would not have happened. In this matter the media and lawyers are not helping me due to political connivance in South India. Not only with regard to forecasting the earthquakes, but also I have invented medicines for Leucoderma, Asthma and Baldness. There had been no medicines for these diseases so far from the beginning of the world, but most fortunately, by the grace of God, I have been able to invent these medicines, and could submit the know-how to the French Government. As these medicines are required for the entire world, the marketing is entrusted with the French Government. What I have to mention is, as to why I have chosen the French Government, can be seen from the website www.mysoresandalproducts.com (Sensational News). The Researcher under reference was born in the State where the present President of India was also born. After the demonstration the whole world will be surprised to know how precautionary measures can be taken to avoid earthquakes in future. To bring the Researcher to the forefront, in the national interest, the Hon’ble Rashtrapathi is requested to take appropriate action. Film stars, team of lawyers, sportsmen and other researchers in various fields are requested to come forward. From Mysore Sandal Products G. V. Shet (Researcher)

And lastly in the recent Gujarath Earth quake how many Govt organisation employees and officers have worked for the quake victims. The Govt officials should be trained like Defence officials to meet any eventuality and evry govt.official and department should have a Crisis team to attend emergency serivices. Suggestions:Respected Sir, Any increase in Taxes is definitely going to boomerang and ultimately the govt. has to spend more due to escalation in prices etc.. This phenomenon has been experienced in the past and the net result is inflation and the poor becomes poorer. Instead Please reduce / cut all Govt. expenditures and observe austerity. No minister should participate in opening ceremenoies. Withdraw security coverage to non-officials and to financially well to do people like Mrs Sonia Gandhi, Sri Devegowda, Ms. Jayalalitha etc. thus save lot of tax payers' money. Air travel under Govt. expenditure should be curtailed. If possible, the Ho. President may keep the Parliament in suspended animation until the economy improves. Thanks

Suggestions:Respected Sir This is for the welfare of the contract labour. To create a central contract labour board for for ensuring welfare of all contract labour. The CL (R&A) Act 1972 to provide for the same. The board shall manage PF & Pension for them (CL). Principal employers (ie establishment under Act)to deposite fixed amount per CL engaged by them through contractor, as PF & Pension contribution. The labour to give a small amount of Rs.50 PM as memnership of board. The wages across the country for contract labour to be fixed by the board. wages to include provision for bonus, two sets of uniform, gratuity, medical etc. Board to have members of Govt., industry, T.U., NGO's,eminent people. If required i can submit a detailed scheme. The stringent regulation under the CL(R&A) Act resulted in malpractises. Labour dept. does very little to ensure welfare of unorganised labour. Corruption in grant of license is norm of the day. A machinery to regulate the wages, and welfare benefits will be well acceptable to emloyers. This will ensure regular, sufficient, livelyhood to the unorganied working class. The CL can be called as contract worker. A PAN No. type identity can be created for him so that his welfare funds are protected and easily available to him. In Maharashtra many such boards are functioning effectively for dock, security,hamal-mathadi(loaders-coolies) etc. Sir kindly give a consideration at this point of important execise of Budget. My best wishes to you sir. Shrikant.

Suggestions:The IT on salaried persons is very, very heavey. Businessmen, on the other hand, get scot free by manipulating the income (even a small grossery shop has a huge turnover paying no or insignificant revenue to the Govt.) You should make the revenue collecting agencies more efficient and honest to collect revenues from whom due, widening the tax payers ambit and not merely penalising the honest tax payers, the poor salaried people. Any increase in the burden to salaried people is like penalising them for the inefficiency and dishonesty of the tax collectors. I am sure you are aware of the facts of real life. Thanks.

I suggest that bank and post office interest payments are done in the same way, ie., charge a tax on the interest paid by banks on the interest payments they make on fixed deposits and make the interest tax free in the hands of the investor. It would help: 1> the government to collect more tax. 2> in making it easier for the individual to declare the interest incomes since they are tax free 3> the banks in that they do not have to deduct TDS

Suggestions:Dear Sir, Instead of again and again taxing the people who are honest (like surcharge over income tax etc), why can't you start penalising the corrupt Chartered accountants and the accounting consultancy firms for evading corporal tax. Please take a look at the mushrooming small firms which generally escape by paying less than 10000 rs. as tax every year with huge actual earnings. Can you please tell, anytime income tax officials raided Chartered accountants?. Please bring in huge fines and atleast an year jail for such corrupt people. Why not an agriculture tax for things like beetle nut (areca nut), elaichi, coffee, tea etc. which are really not in the poor people food list. Please give concessions to people growing rice, wheat, raagy, jawar, toor dal, fruits and people producing milk. What I mean is, the very essential things should be shown consession so that people should not move over from rice/wheat growing to beetle nut, jinger etc. just for extra profit. I think we should not end up in food grain crisis in another 10-15 years. Thanks Vinayak

Suggestions:Dear Sir, Although by now, you must have finalised the figures. But I would like to give you two suggestions: 1. Reduce the income tax rates for salaried persons. There have been surcharges in the last three budgets. Now, it's high time you do away with these. Better, look for other alternatives like collecting some tax from small traders. 2. Reduce the size of Govt. Because, alongwith revenue generation you must address as to how to reduce expenditure also. Also, is there a need to have 80 cabinet ministers and so many ministries. If you or the NDA Govt really want to do something, then it should start from the top i.e. reduce the number of ministers and Govt employees. All the best. Amit

Suggestions:Subsidy on LPG can be eliminated in single go.Subsidised LPG should be made available only to those living below poverty line. The distribution of subsidised LPG can be delinked from non-subsidised LPG.By distributing non-subsidised LPG thru outletscontrolled either by the State Civil Supply Outlets or thru the Ration Shops. This way you not only save on subsidy outflow to people who should be paying but also diversion of subsidy to non-domestic users.Because then there will be no difference in prices for domestic & non-domestic users. Moreover by continuing the subsidy for the poor, you save political backlash. In the aftermath of the Gujarat disaster, the timing is also correct.Thankingyou.

Suggestions:Increase in the income tax on salaried people will increase the burden on the poor government employees only and those traders / business men who have much more income will any way go scott free. My suggestion is instead of taxing the employees more try to collect the taxes from the business people in efficient way which is not done till date. It is very common in our country to find that poor employees pay more tax than very rich buisiness man.
