Rabri Devi to seek trust vote on July 28

Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, who on Saturday retained all important portfolios including finance and home like her predecessor and husband Laloo Prasad Yadav, said she will seek the vote of confidence in the state assembly on Monday, July 28.

Though Governor A R Kidwai gave her 10 days to prove her majority, the chief minister said she was keen on an early trust vote as she did not want government work to suffer.

Devi said the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-S, the JMM-M, the Jharkhand Peoples Party and several Independent legislators along with the 136 Rashtriya Janata Dal members will support her on the floor of the House.

Referring to the atrocities on women, the chief minister said the district magistrates and the police superintendents concerned will be held responsible for all such cases. The chief minister also said that reservations should be given to women in every field.

Earlier, Devi attended a high-level meeting with senior state government officials. She also reviewed the law and order situation in the state and cleared about 25 pending files.

The chief minister was accompanied to her office by Laloo Yadav.
