Mariah Carey’s four-legged friends are gearing up to take the trip of a lifetime. The singer, 44, is splashing out a massive £15,000 (Rs 15 lakh) on sending her elaborately named pets: Jill E Beans, The Good Reverend Pow Jackson, Pipitty Jackson, Cha Cha, Jackie Lambchops, JJ, Squeak E Beans and Mutley P Gore Jackson The Third to Paw Seasons, a luxury dog hotel in Bristol. The pooches will be sleeping in their own beds and be groomed and washed and taken on day trips to the surrounding areas.

The cute canines will be waited on hand-and paw during their stay, with every meal tailor-made by a personal chef, according to a menu plan which Mariah is sending over. 



Let the Lazy Games begin

Organisers of the 2nd International Lazy Olympics admit they should have promoted the event -- but couldn’t be bothered. The annual event is staged in Montenegro which sells itself to tourists on its famously slow pace of life. This year’s event, held in the shade of an oak tree on the outskirts of the Ethno Village of Breznik in the Piva Region, has attracted international contestants. It also attracts surprisingly good crowds, considering there is only one event -- which involves lazily lying under the oak tree.

Isaiah Webb grows his way to fame

Behind every good beard is a great woman. At least if the beard belongs to Isaiah Webb, a San Francisco-based employee of Sony, who has earned a bit of Internet fame as “Incredibeard.” Every Monday via various social media channels, Webb posts a picture of himself with his beard in some bizarre shape or pattern. His most famous photo shows him turning his beard into a ramen bowl. He credits his wife, Angela, with turning him into a tonsorial superstar. “My wife’s into fashion and she likes beards,” he said.

Hospital to open wine bar for terminally ill patients

A French hospital will become the first in the world to open up a wine bar in a bid to cheer up terminally ill patients in their final dying days. Top doctors at Clermont-FerrandUniversityHospital believe a few drinks with friends and family could dramatically enhance their quality of life. The bar will be based in the palliative care centre, where staff will be trained in how best to deal with partying patients. Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital Center said in statement the terminally ill will be allowed to enjoy a ‘medically supervised’ glass or two with their families.

London city workers sport micro suit shorts


London city workers have been spotted in London wearing micro suit shorts during the recent heatwave. The bizarre sartorial trend was spotted on the streets of the capital as temperatures soared to a sticky 26 degrees. The revealing shorts were clearly a step too far for some passers-by - but they turned out to be a marketing stunt.

A tailor spent two weeks creating the bespoke bum huggers, before a team of male models were dispatched to stroll through iconic sites including Canary Wharf tube station and the Square Mile. 

Justin Bieber's 'Baby' saves man from bear attack

The melodic warbling of Justin Bieber is credited with saving a man’s life in Europe. Igor Vorozhbitsyn said he was fishing in northern Russia’s Yakutia Republic when a bear attacked him. The man thought he was done for, but when the bear clawed at him, his cellphone went off. The ringtone, Justin Bieber’s Baby, caused the bear to run away.

Man rolls brussel sprouts to the top of mountain with his nose

For some people reaching the summit of Mount Everest is a life ambition. For others, it is hiking up Mount Kilimanjaro. For Stuart Kettell, it was climbing Mount Snowdon… while rolling a Brussels sprout with his nose. The 49-year-old from Balsall Common in the West Midlands, began his sprout rolling endeavour on Wednesday, and after four days of nostril nudging he reached the summit of Wales’ highest peak on Saturday.

Five-year-old Minnesota mayor loses bid for third term

Robert Tufts lost election for a third term as honorary mayor of an unofficial northern Minnesota town but he took the defeat in stride and is looking forward to kindergarten, his mother said on Tuesday. Robert, who is 5 years old, did not campaign this year for mayor of Dorset, which picks an honorary leader in a drawing each August during its Taste of Dorset festival, Emma Tufts said.

 

US restaurant offers 15% off for praying before meal

A North Carolina restaurant offers a 15 per cent off to customers that display gratitude for their meal with a prayer. Mary’s Gourmet Diner in Winston-Salem has been giving this discount for the past four years. The restaurant owner, Mary Haglund asserted that the discount was “not a policy”, but a gift given to those who took the time to appreciate their food and was seen having a moment.

New startup gives out handsome men on rent

ManServants is a startup that provides handsome men for rent to its customers, women or men, to fulfill your almost any fantasy like serve drinks, personal assistants, pool boys, light cigarettes, take photos and feed grapes. It is the brainchild of Josephine Wai Lin and Dalal Khajah and is based in San Francisco. In a two-minute video on the company's website an actress states, “Ladies, if you hate your friend and yourself, get her a stripper. If you love her, get her a ManServant.” Women can name their ManServants anything they want, and they’ll respond.
