Ask Big B to apologise as well: MNS to Sena

February 11, 2010 13:22 IST

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday accused Shiv Sena of adopting dual standards, saying the party was insisting on an apology from Shah Rukh Khan over his pro-Pakistan remarks while keeping mum on megastar Amitabh Bachchan's campaign for good ties with that country.

Just because Shah Rukh Khan made one comment, you (Sena) are insisting that he must apologise. Why is the same criteria not being applied to Amitabh Bachchan, who yesterday performed 'Aman ki Asha' with Pakistanis?," Raj said.

"Why is no one asking Amitabh to apologise," Raj said adding MNS will not participate in agitation against 'My Name Is Khan', which is releasing tomorrow.

Bachchan is part of a peace initiative 'Aman ki Asha' aimed at promoting good ties with Pakistan. He has faced criticism in the past from MNS, which accused him of ignoring Maharashtra where he earned name and fame.
