How is the family coping with the situation?
"My mother is there throughout and we are three sisters so we take turns in being with her and one of us spends the night in the room where she is staying. We try and have our meals together. My husband and my elder sister and her husband come in whenever they can and some of the grand sons turn up from time to time. The morale stays up that ways."
How is the Prime Minister doing?
"He is doing well. The doctors are very pleased with his progress and we get daily updates, so we are all very encouraged by what the doctors are telling us.We got to see him for a very short while, he looks quite strong and seems to be doing well."
How is he spending time in the hospital?
"Most of the time he is resting. He is also listening to music. Somebody had got him a CD of Ghalib's last night he was listening to that."
Has he asked for anything to be sent to the hospital?
"His desire is just to get back home. Rather than taking the home to the hospital, he just wants to be home."
What do you make of the goodwill that the PM has garnered in this difficult time given that people havent' been kind to politicians of late?
"Its been so nice to see so many people express such concern and find time to express that concern. We really appreciate it and its helped my mother and the rest of the family to pull through this. It just helps you remian cheerful during the difficult times."
