Amid a Mumbai [Images] woman's claim that she was flown to the United States by investigators on her being a witness to arrival of terrorists in the city on November 26, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has said all the interviews conducted by it in connection with the strikes were on a voluntary basis and 'did not involve travel outside of normal circumstances'.

An FBI spokesperson told PTI on Saturday, "The FBI continues to assist the Government of India with their investigation into last year's attacks in Mumbai. The FBI has been working with the Indian authorities as well as our partners to cover all leads, wherever they may take us."

His remarks came in response to a question on the claim early this week by scrap dealer, Anita Uddaiya that she was taken to the US for further interrogation by the FBI.

Uddaiya, a resident of South Mumbai, had said she had seen the 10 terrorists, who carried out the 26/11 strikes, arrive in the city in a rubber dinghy. She went missing from her residence on January 11 after which her daughter filed a missing persons complaint.

However, the 48-year-old woman, who does not even have a passport, mysteriously returned to her home on Wednesday and claimed she had been taken to the US by authorities for questioning.

But, Mumbai police rubbished her version and slapped a case against her. They lodge a non-cognisable complaint against Uddaiya for allegedly misleading them.
