Senior Bhartiya Janata Party General Secretary Arun Jaitley on Friday dismissed speculations about Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi [Images] becoming a challenge to the party's prime ministerial candidate L K Advani [Images].

"Politics is not so juvenile that Anil Ambani [Images] or Sunil Mittal can get anybody in the PM's seat," Jaitley affirmed while talking to reporters at the BJP headquarters in Delhi [Images].

He pointed out that Advani was one of the most vocal supporters of Modi, who used every opportunity to project Modi as the BJP's poster boy for development.

Jaitley stressed that Modi himself stood behind Advani 'like a rock'.

"There is no scope of any contradiction: A person like Modi, who is one of the biggest supporters of Advani, cannot become a challenge to him in any way," he remarked.

Pointing out that he was in touch with both leaders; Jaitley said he was saying 'with authority' that Modi would never consider himself a contender for the PM's post when the BJP has already declared Advani as the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.

Queried on Modi's silence on Ambani and Mittal's comment, Jaitley retorted that it was not necessary for Modi to comment each and very time. The media is creating a controversy, he said, when there is none.
