Several residents of the constituency stood in the scorching heat awaiting the arrival of the leader. However the absence of any mention of a local issue had irked them no end. Milind Dharmasen, a music director, originally from Chithradurga told rediff.com that there is a reason why no Member of Parlioament has been elected from the Chithradurga constituency for two consecutive terms in the recent past.
Water is the biggest issue over here and no MP till date has asked for a package for this contituency which incidentally is the biggest area wise in Karnataka.
Kariyappa, a member at the rally too wore a dejected look. Initially he was happy that Advanis speech in Hindi was being translated, but towards the end he returned dejected. Advani is coming here after 13 years and he should have promised us something. It is only water that matters here and nothing else, he said.
