The flood situation in Orissa remained grim on Monday.
Large parts of the coastal state were inundated after authorities were forced to open dozens of sluice gates of a dam on the Mahanadi River following heavy rain in the catchment area.
Around 16 villages in Pipli district of the state continue to grapple with floods.
Meanwhile, flood-affected villagers said they were facing food shortage and were awaiting relief from the government.
