Talking to media-persons in Guwahati, Paswan said there should be uniform law to deal with all such organisations which are working against national interest and integrity whether it is Students Islamic Movement of India, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

Paswan condemned the attacks on Christians and churches in different parts of the country including Karnataka and Orissa.

"The issue of imposition of a ban on the SIMI [Images] is already under the consideration of the Supreme Court. There should be equal treatment under the law to all such organizations which are out to disrupt national harmony and peace," he said.

Paswan suggested that a National Commission should be constituted immediately and policies should be framed for the same, so that activities all the organizations which are working against the interests of national integration could be assessed.

"The commission should be empowered to recommend imposition of ban on such organizations if required," he said.

Regarding the problem of illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Assam and other Northeastern states,  Paswan said all the political parties had been indulging in politics over the illegal Bangladeshi migrants issue and none were doing anything concrete to solve the problem.

Paswan said there was no clear cut policy where to deport the illegal migrants from Bangladesh which had sneaked into Assam after the cut off date of March, 1971 in absence of an extradition treaty between India and Bangladesh.

The LJP leader, therefore, demanded that all political parties should stop politicking over the Bangladeshi issue and focus on formulating policy to deal with deportation of illegal migrants from Assam and Northeast.
