The police and the security agencies hunting for a key Lashkar-e-Taiba operative with links in Kashmir, finally caught up with him in Hyderabad.

Mohammed Abdul Jabbar from Mallapuram, whose name cropped up in the context of the death of four Kerala [Images] youth in an encounter in northern Kashmir recently was arrested in a joint operation by the Andhra Pradesh and Kerala police.

He was found at the house of his co-brother Abdul Sattar in the outskirts of Hyderabad. The raid was carried out by the special investigations team, counter intelligence team of AP Police and special team from Kerala on a tip-off from intelligence agencies.

A manhunt was launch for Jabbar after the security agencies learnt that Jabbar was also present during the encounter but managed to escape with an injury. Jabbar first returned to Kerala and then shifted to Hyderabad as police had started searching for him.

Abdul Jabbar was produced before the 7^th metropolitan magistrate and he granted the transit warrant following which Jabbar was taken to Kerala.

According to police sources, Jabbar will be taken to Kashmir for questioning about the encounter and his other activities in Kashmir.
