A defamation complaint was filed on Friday in a Lucknow court by a Samajwadi Party worker against Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani [Images] and three party members of Parliament for charging the SP with attempting to bribe the trio before Tuesday's trust vote.

Former corporator Kishori Lal Yadav filed the suit before special additional chief judicial magistrate RP Tripathi, who ordered registration of the defamation complaint and fixed August 8 for recording the statement of the complainant.

Yadav, who is also an advocate, in his complaint under section 500 of the Indian Penal Code (defamation) has alleged that Advani, Ashok Argal, Mahavir Singh Bhagora and Faggan Singh Kulaste showed wads of currency notes in the Lok Sabha during the trust motion on July 22 to defame Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh [Images].
