Nationalist Congress Party leader Jayant Patil on Tuesday became the new Home Minister of Maharashtra.

Dilip Valse Patil, also of NCP, has been given Finance Ministry, sources said.

The Home portfolio was earlier held by NCP's R R Patil, who along with Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh [Images], resigned following the terror attacks in the city.
