Putting a formal seal on the prominence of his family in the affairs of Praja Rajyam Party, film star-turned-politician Chiranjeevi [Images] formally appointed his younger brother and film star Pavan Kalyan as the chief of Yuva [Images] Rajyam, the youth wing of the PRP. Pavan Kalyan, who is known as 'power star' among the Telugu cine goers, is not the only member of Chiru family to be in the forefront of PRP's organizational setup. Chiranjeevi's other brother and film actor Naga Babu and Chiru's brother in law and film producer Allu Arvind are also calling the shots in the party even before it was formally launched in August.
Both of them are also likely to get important posts in the party as Chiranjeevi is gradually unfolding the organizational structure of the party.
Chiranjeevi defended the appointment of his younger brother's choice as the youth wing president saying, "He is a multi talented person with deep commitment to social work. He has tremendous popularity among the youth and he can motivate them. The relationship with me should not come in their way if they have the talent and the merit", he said on the role of the family members in the party affairs.
Speaking after formally taking over as the youth wing chief, Pavan Kalyan said that two incidents early in the age had created a sense of insecurity in him and made him worry about the lack of security in the society at large. "The time has not come for me to talk about those incidents but creating a society free of insecurity is my goal", he said.
"My goal is to see a society in which the ordinary and the helpless people are able to live without any fear", Pavan said. Much to happiness of his fans Pavan announced that he will not discontinue his work in films. He also made it clear that he will not be contesting the elections but work to strengthen the PRP under the leadership of his elder brother.
"I want to serve the weaker sections and the backward classes and helpless people with a spirit of humanity", Pavan Kalyan said.
