RPI supporters stage rasta roko in Mumbai over Big Boss-2
August 20, 2008

Republican Party of India president Ramdas Athawale's supporters on Wednesday staged a rasta roko on the Eastern Express highway in Mulund, Mumbai, alleging that TV channel 'Colors' dropped Athawale from its reality show Bigg Boss-2 because he was a Dalit.

On Tuesday, a group of RPI activists stormed the channel's office in Andheri, Mumbai, and damaged furnitures, police said.

Athawale, a Lok Sabha MP from Pandharpur, has threatened to move the court, alleging he was dropped from the reality show because of his caste. Athawale alleged that his name had been finalised by the channel, but later dropped.
